The 22nd January 2003, His Royal Highness, Carlos de Borbón, Infante de España, on his behalf, Ignacio Camuñas Solís, on behalf of the Foundation Centre, and Isidro Fainé Casas, on behalf of the , constituted before notary, the Spanish Association of Foundations.
More than 600 Foundations had ratified his will to belong to the new entity by the time the first General Ordinary Assembly was celebrated on the 26th of march 2003.
The Spanish Association of Foundations was constituted with the aim of offering more and better services to its associates, of contributing to a clear identification and a stronger influence of Foundations in our country, and of acting as representative of the foundational world under the legitimacy granted by its associates.
More specifically, the Spanish Association of Foundations wishes to be,
An efficient organization which provides services to spanish foundations in sensitive matters such as legal, accounting and management advice; post graduate education; diffusion of information relevant to the sector; preferential conditions in the access to products and services provided by some companies and institutions.
Looking to a future of greater responsability and commitment of the foundational sector, the Spanish Association of Foundations is witness of its growth and acts as a promoter of the importance and the value of the idea of Foundation in modern society, stimulating with well founded arguments, the development of rules and administrative practice which will facilitate and incentive its activities.
